Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) is a public university in Sylhet; despite "science and technology" in its name it also teaches humanities, social science and business subjects. Since the 2024-25 session SUST has left the GST cluster system and runs its own admission test.

What leaving the cluster means
In 2024-25 SUST left the cluster together with Jagannath, Khulna and Comilla universities. A single cluster application no longer reaches a SUST seat — it takes a separate application, a separate fee and a separate test in Sylhet. That also gives a student an extra, independent chance: a poor cluster result does not touch the SUST outcome.

Sylhet’s test on the national calendar
SUST’s test falls in late January this cycle, alongside the engineering universities and Chittagong University. Sylhet sits in a corner of the country, so the journey alone can take a day — try to keep at least one clear day between SUST and the tests on either side.
