Class XI admission for the 2026-27 session is now in its second phase. The policy was published on 24 August 2026; phase-1 applications opened on 2 September 2026, the merit list came out on 16 September 2026, 8:00 PM, the migration result on 19 September 2026, 8:00 PM, and classes began on 24 September 2026. Phase-2 applications run from 27 September 2026 (Sunday) to 28 September 2026, 8:00 PM.

Phase 1’s arithmetic is worth a look. 8,180 institutions offered 2,601,779 seats; after migration 853,441 students were finally selected — roughly one seat in three — and 557 institutions enrolled nobody. For anyone still without a college, seats are not the constraint; a sensibly built list is.

Class XI admission 2026-27 — every phase and its date

About 995,230 students applied in phase 1; 980,815 were placed on the merit list and 14,415 got no college at all — 2,205 of them with a GPA of 5. After migration 853,441 were finally selected against 2,601,779 seats, so the students left out were short of a well-built choice list, not of seats.

If you got no college in phase 1, or did not confirm, phase 2 is your chance: applications run from 27 September 2026 (Sunday) to 28 September 2026, 8:00 PM. A phase-1 applicant who was not selected anywhere applies free this time.

How the merit list is built (2026-27)

When two applicants hold the same GPA, total marks are compared first. If those tie as well, specific subject marks are applied in a fixed order that depends on the stream — so a GPA of 5.00 alone does not guarantee a seat at the same college; the marks behind it are counted too.

What to do now, depending on where you stand

The steps of one application

The whole thing is online, in a single application. You identify yourself on xiclassadmission.gov.bd with your SSC details, order your chosen colleges, and pay the fee. No paperwork is submitted anywhere and no college visit is required.

1. Start at xiclassadmission.gov.bd with your SSC roll number, board, passing year and registration number. If they match, your result and photograph load automatically.
2. Give a working mobile number — every result and confirmation SMS goes to it, so use your own or a guardian’s number that will stay active throughout.
3. Search for colleges and add them in order. Remember that shift, version and group each count as a separate choice — two shifts of one college means two of your slots.
4. Check the order carefully. Selection runs top-down: you are placed at the highest college on your list where you qualify, and no lower one is considered after that.
5. Pay the application fee through mobile banking, submit, and keep the confirmation SMS or PDF.
6. After the result, confirm within the stated window. Miss this step and the selection is cancelled, and you have to apply again in the next phase.

How the phases work

Admission does not finish in one round. Seats left by students who were not selected, or who were selected and did not confirm, are released — and the next phase runs on those. This session’s phase 2 has been announced; no third phase had been announced as of 26 September 2026.

Migration is a separate thing. Even after you confirm, if a seat opens at a college higher on your list, the system moves you up to it. Migration only ever goes upward, never down, and it cannot cost you the seat you already hold.

• Selected and confirmed → the seat is yours, and migration can still move you up.
• Selected but did not confirm → the selection is cancelled and you re-apply in the next phase.
• Not selected → apply in the next phase, this time weighting your list toward realistic colleges.

How the phases ran last year

This cycle's schedule is above; the table below is last session's (2025-26), kept for comparison. The number of phases and the confirmation and migration rules stay much the same year to year; what changes is mainly the dates. The application fee is BDT 220 in both years; what did change is the quota — a single 2% education-ministry quota this year, where last year it was split 1% + 1% across offices.
