BUP FOE Admission 2026-27: CSE and ICE Test on 8 January

To study CSE or ICE at BUP, the test is on 8 January 2027. The circular calls the faculty the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) and the results page the Faculty of Engineering & Technology — they are the same. It runs two programmes: a BSc in Information & Communication Engineering and a BSc in Computer Science & Engineering.
Until 2024-25 both programmes sat in the Faculty of Science & Technology. In 2025-26 only science students could apply, with a combined GPA of 9.00, an A in HSC physics, chemistry and maths, and A- in English.

The paper — maths is not optional
Sixty marks in one hour, three of four sections — the mirror image of FST, where biology is the fixed section; here it is maths. Most engineering candidates will drop biology and answer maths, physics and chemistry. Calculators are permitted; each error costs 0.50.

Fitting it around BUET and MIST
FOE comes after MIST (18–19 December) and eight days before BUET on 16 January. BUET preparation does not match the pace of a one-hour MCQ — BUET wants worked solutions, BUP wants fast elimination. Set aside a few one-hour, 60-question mocks in the last week of December.
BUP publishes neither FOE seat numbers nor applicant totals, so no competition ratio can be given. If you are also preparing for MIST and AAUB, keep FOE on the same shortlist.
The ranking formula
Fifty-five percent of the final score is the admission test, twenty-five percent HSC marks and twenty percent SSC marks. Nearly every engineering candidate has GPA 5, so those with higher HSC marks in higher maths and physics begin with a small lead before the test.
