BUP FSSS Admission 2026-27: Law, International Relations and Journalism

BUP’s Faculty of Security & Strategic Studies (FSSS) tests on 8 January 2027, the same day as the science, engineering and medical faculties. It runs four programmes: a BSS in International Relations, the LLB, Mass Communication & Journalism, and Peace, Conflict & Human Rights.
For humanities students FSSS is BUP’s toughest door: in 2025-26 it demanded 8.00 from them too, against 7.50 in FASS and FBS. The pull of law and international relations explains it.

Eligibility (2025-26)
Science candidates again face the highest bar, 8.50. Both the HSC 2024 and 2025 batches qualified last year; check the circular for this year’s batches.

Marks and selection
The layout matches FASS, but the field is stronger. IR and law candidates lean hard on general knowledge, so global bodies, treaties, borders and diplomacy need to be exact. Under 40% in English means elimination, and each error costs 0.50. The rank weights the MCQ at 55%, HSC marks at 25% and SSC marks at 20%.

Clashes on the day
JnU’s fine arts (E) unit also tests on 8 January, 10 to 11 AM; once the FSSS time is out, check whether the two collide. If law is the goal, keep DU’s arts, law and social science unit (19 December) and JnU’s B unit (15 January) on your list — both have a law department. Last cycle FSSS sat in the afternoon; this year’s time is not yet known.
