BUP FST Admission 2026-27: Environmental Science Test on 8 January

BUP’s Faculty of Science & Technology (FST) sits its 2026-27 test on 8 January 2027. The 2025-26 circular listed a single programme under it — the BSc in Environmental Science. ICE and CSE used to belong to FST too; for 2025-26 they moved to a separate engineering faculty.

Only science students may apply, and the terms are strict: last year a combined GPA of 9.00, an A in HSC physics, chemistry and biology, and A- in English. In 2024-25 the combined bar was 9.50.

Three of four — how the paper works

Sixty marks in an hour: answer any three of the four sections, but biology cannot be the one you drop. In effect you pick two of the other three — a candidate weak in maths can take physics and chemistry. Calculators are allowed, a permission BUP gives only in FST, FOE and FMS. The 0.50 deduction per error and the English threshold in the circular apply to every faculty.

Merit rank and who has the edge

BUP’s formula weights the MCQ at 55%, HSC marks at 25% and SSC marks at 20%. Since everyone in FST is above 9.00, small gaps in raw board marks still move the rank. Candidates whose biology is strong from medical preparation start with a natural advantage here.

As a fallback for medical candidates

For medical aspirants FST is a sensible fallback: biology is compulsory, chemistry optional, and three sections can be filled without touching maths. The catch is that FOE and FMS test on the same day, so you choose among the three when you apply. BUP has not published the seat count.
