Dhaka University's admission season opens with IBA: the 2026-27 BBA admission test is on 5 December 2026, 10 AM to noon. Where the other four units sit for ninety minutes, IBA takes a full two hours — 70 marks of MCQ in 90 minutes, then a 30-mark descriptive section in 30. The test is held in Dhaka only.
The competition is fiercer than in any other DU unit. In 2025-26, 11,147 applications came in for about 120 seats — more than 92 per seat. That is why IBA preparation looks different: English, maths and analytical reasoning decide it, not HSC subject knowledge.

What the IBA paper looks like
The MCQ section covers English, maths and analytical reasoning. The published scorecard of the 2024-25 topper shows the weighting: English 30, maths 25, analytical 15, written 30 — English is the heaviest single part. That year a viva added 20 more marks; whether 2026-27 keeps a viva is for IBA's own notice to confirm.

Who can apply
Under DU's general rule, only students who passed SSC between 2021 and 2024 and HSC in 2026 alone can apply — there is no second attempt. IBA is open to science, humanities and business students alike, and sets separate conditions for O- and A-level candidates.
IBA's minimum GPA for 2026-27 has not been published yet. IBA announces its conditions itself, so don't infer them from the general units' GPA rules — read IBA's notice before applying.
Using the two months before the test
- English: one reading passage and twenty vocabulary items a day; log the rule behind every question you miss.
- Maths: percentages, ratios, interest, algebra and basic geometry — practised fast, without a calculator.
- Analytical: puzzles and data sufficiency — the part where practice raises the score fastest.
- Written: practise one organised essay or argued answer in 30 minutes, at least twice a week.
- The other units sit after 5 December, so IBA preparation carries over — English above all.
