KU B Unit Admission 2026-27: The Life Science Test on 18 December

Khulna University’s life-science school admits through the B unit, whose 2026-27 test is on 18 December 2026, the same day as the A unit. It is the route into seven departments: pharmacy, biotechnology, environmental science, fisheries, forestry, agrotechnology and soil science.
It differs from A in two ways: biology is the heaviest subject on the paper, and eligibility adds a per-subject grade rule for five HSC subjects on top of the total GPA. In 2025-26, 28,968 candidates applied for 281 seats, around 103 per seat.

Subject-wise marks in the B unit
Every one of the five subjects is examined, so a biology-minded candidate cannot skip maths and a maths-minded one cannot skip biology. The MCQ and written halves run 45 minutes each, with 0.25 deducted for each wrong MCQ.

The two layers of eligibility
The first layer: science stream only, with a combined SSC and HSC GPA of 8.00. The second: at least 3.00 grade points in each of HSC biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and English. A strong total does not help if even one of those five sits below 3.00.
In 2025-26 the SSC 2022/2023 and HSC 2024/2025 batches were eligible, and the centres were Khulna, Dhaka, Rajshahi and Chattogram.
Seven departments, 281 seats
Each department has 40 seats, plus one BKSP seat, for 281 in all.

Last year’s pressure
The B unit took 28,968 applications in 2025-26 — fewer than A, but for fewer seats, so roughly 103 per seat. Because all five subjects carry marks, a weak spot in any one of them is costly here.
Preparing for the B unit
- Biology, 25 marks: cover botany and zoology evenly, and practise labelled diagrams for the 10 written marks.
- Maths, physics and chemistry at 20 each: if medical preparation made you drop maths, pick it back up from November.
- The written half asks short questions — practise two-to-three-line definitions and brief calculations in each subject.
- A and B share a day; last year A ran in the morning and B in the afternoon. Sitting both, spend the break on biology notes alone.
