Khulna University’s management and business administration school tests through the D unit, on 17 December 2026 for the 2026-27 session — the same day as C. It is the smallest of KU’s four units, with 88 seats in 2025-26.
The entire D paper is in English, and it does not test the business syllabus as such — it tests English, maths and analytical ability, with a small business-knowledge section. The competition is gentler than elsewhere: 3,603 applied in 2025-26, about 41 per seat. The figure of roughly 98 per seat in press reports is the university-wide average.

How the D unit is marked
Sixty of the 100 marks are English — 20 in the MCQ half and the whole 40-mark written half. Maths and analytical ability take 30, with 0.25 lost per wrong MCQ. Memorising the accounting or management syllabus will not carry you far here.

Eligibility: two sources, two rules
All three streams may apply. One 2025-26 guide sets at least 3.50 in each of SSC and HSC plus at least 3.00 in HSC English; another gives only a combined GPA of 7.00. They cannot both be right, so confirm the rule in the 2026-27 circular before paying the fee.
Last year the D unit ran at only two centres, Khulna and Dhaka, not in Rajshahi or Chattogram like the other units.

Why the competition looks lighter
There were 3,603 applications for 88 seats — less than half the per-seat pressure of KU’s other units. One plausible reason is the language of the paper, since a test set entirely in English may keep many candidates away. For a student who is strong in English, that makes D a comparatively open door into KU.
An IBA-style preparation
- English written, 40 marks: essay, paragraph and translation — practise full answers against a 45-minute clock.
- Maths and analytical, 30 marks: percentages, ratios, interest, data interpretation and logic puzzles; past DU IBA papers are good practice.
- Business knowledge, 10 marks: the national economy, banks, major companies and the latest budget news.
- C and D share the day — last year D was in the morning, so if you sit both, keep a clear head for D first.
