KU C Unit Admission 2026-27: Arts, Social Science and Law on 17 December

Khulna University’s 2026-27 tests begin on 17 December 2026, and one of that day’s papers is the C unit, covering the arts and humanities, social science, law, education and fine arts schools. Students from science, humanities and business may all sit it.
English weighs unusually heavily here: 25 marks in the MCQ half and 30 in the written, 55 of the 100 in all. In 2025-26, 36,734 candidates applied for 415 seats, about 89 per seat, so the ability to write well in English is what sorts the merit list.

The C unit mark split
Thirty of the 40 written marks are English, answered in your own sentences rather than by ticking a box. General knowledge appears only in the MCQ half, where each wrong answer costs 0.25.
The three fine-arts departments add a separate 50-mark drawing and design test.

Who is eligible
Students from any stream with a combined SSC and HSC GPA of at least 7.00. In 2025-26 that meant SSC 2022 or 2023 with HSC 2024 or 2025, and the test was held in Khulna, Dhaka, Rajshahi and Chattogram.

What to expect
The C unit took 36,734 applications in 2025-26 — close to A’s count, though with more seats. Set aside the 60 fine-arts seats and 355 remain in the general departments that nearly every candidate is competing for.
C and D share 17 December this year. Last year D ran in the morning and C after lunch; if that pattern holds, a business student can sit both, so watch for the timing notice.
An English-centred plan
- Write and self-correct a 150-word paragraph daily — nothing pays off more in the 30 written marks.
- Translate from Bangla to English three times a week, counting tense and article errors separately.
- Bangla’s 20 marks mix grammar with short written answers; the HSC syllabus is enough.
- General knowledge, 25 marks: Bangladesh and world affairs — with a December test, read the news through November.
