JnU’s season closes with the D unit: the Faculty of Social Science tests on 23 January 2027, 10 to 11 AM — the day after the C unit. The entry terms mirror the B unit: a combined SSC + HSC GPA of 6.0, with no less than 2.75 in either exam.
Economics, political science, public administration or mass communication and journalism all come through here. In 2025-26 the unit drew 22,693 applicants for 610 seats — around 37 per place, far fewer than the neighbouring B unit.

What is on the paper
In 2025-26 the D unit set Bangla, English, and a choice between general knowledge and mathematical reasoning. That option is the real difference from the B unit: a candidate who is weak on current affairs but quick with numbers can play to that strength here.
The overall mark frame followed the rest of JnU — 72 for the MCQ, 28 from GPA. For the per-part split and the negative-marking rule, wait for the 2026-27 circular; last year the sources contradicted each other on deductions.

The upside and risk of going last
By the D unit’s turn, DU’s and BUP’s humanities tests will be behind you and Jahangirnagar’s will be under way, so the question style will be familiar. The risk is fatigue: by the third week of January many candidates stop working. Use the last ten days to redo mistakes from earlier papers rather than open new chapters, and keep a running current-affairs list.
The C and D units run on consecutive days, so a business student sitting both should plan travel and rest in advance.
