CU D1 Sub-unit 2026-27: Physical Education and Sports Science

CU's D1 sub-unit exists for a single department: Physical Education & Sports Science, in the Faculty of Education. The 2026-27 test falls on 8 February 2027, the last day of CU's calendar, and is held on the main campus only.

There are only 40 places. In 2025-26, 1,421 people applied, about 36 per seat. One rule sets this sub-unit apart: the pass mark is 35 rather than 40, lower than in any other CU unit.

Marks and the pass rule

Whether sports-science admission includes a fitness or sporting-skill assessment, we could not confirm from any verifiable source. The 35 pass mark applies to the written test; any further stage would have its rules set out in the circular.

Why it is a sub-unit of its own

Where the D unit is a large family of social sciences and law, D1 is a vocational department leading toward PE teaching, coaching, fitness and sports management. It is taught in a small batch of 40, so the modest applicant count should not be mistaken for an easy contest.

In 2025-26, SSC 2022/2023 and HSC 2024/2025 candidates were eligible and the fee was BDT 1,000. We could not verify a GPA condition specific to D1.

1. Coming last on 8 February, D1 can ride on your D unit (6 February) preparation.
2. Keep the free day, 7 February, for revision.
3. In case a physical test is part of it, keep up running and fitness work — no downside, possible upside.
4. The test is on campus, so arrive in Chattogram the night before if you are travelling.
