JU E Unit Admission 2026-27: The Business Studies Faculty

JU's E unit leads to the four departments of the Faculty of Business Studies — Finance & Banking, Marketing, Accounting & Information Systems, and Management Studies — with 50 places each. The 2026-27 test is in January 2027 at Savar; no day yet.
The paper has four equal parts of 20 marks, and two of them offer a choice — accounting or maths, management or analytical — so science or humanities candidates can answer without commerce textbooks. In 2025-26, 11,612 applied for 200 places, about 58 per seat.

Four equal parts, two with a choice
Reports write the options with a slash; the usual reading is that commerce students take accounting and management while others take maths and analytical. Who may choose which is for the circular to confirm, not for you to assume.

GPA, and a dispute over the fee
In 2025-26 science students needed 8.50 combined and humanities or commerce students 7.50, all with at least 3.50 in each exam — so the bar is lower for the commerce stream than for science.
Prothom Alo put the E unit fee at BDT 700, Ittefaq at 600; we keep Prothom Alo’s figure. Either way, a 1.2% service charge is added when you pay online.

Preparing for unit E
- Commerce students: revise HSC accounting — journals, ledgers, trial balance — and management fundamentals.
- Others: SSC-level maths plus puzzles, twenty a day.
- The 40 language marks are common to everyone — that is where the widest gaps open.
- If you will also sit IBA-JU, push English harder — it carries 30 marks there.
